Preliminary Drawing
Floor Plans
Everything starts by perfecting the floor plan.
All levels of the building are drawn as if they were cut 4’-0” above the corresponding floor. They show all walls, doors, windows, plumbing fixtures, appliances, etc. Typically, there are basement-lower level, main level and upper level floor plans. They are drawn at a scale of 1/4” = 1’-0”. All areas of the plan are calculated as part of the square footage. These typically include all habitable spaces, the garage, covered entry / front patios or decks, covered rear patios or decks, etc.

Exterior Elevations
The next step is to see what your floor plan looks like.
These drawings are based on the floor plan and they show all exterior views of the building. Typically, they are the front, rear, right & left. They are drawn at a scale of 1/4” = 1’-0”.

3D Model
Finish the design and take a virtual tour of your home.
The 3D Model is developed based on the floor plans and the exterior elevations. Typically you would view the model from the front or street side perspective view of the building. But with a complete 3D model you will be able to look all around the building. It can be used to assist those who have a difficult time understanding or visualizing the 2-Dimensional (flat) exterior elevations or floor plans. A 3D model is an excellent way to clear up any confusion and explain the design intent.
